What is a Boiler Corrosion Inhibitor?
A boiler corrosion inhibitor is designed to minimizes corrosion in water systems. The product contains a combination of nitrite, borate, and silicate formulated to minimize corrosion. The product is not designed to prevent scaling. It is designed to use in low water makeup systems. This Boiler Corrosion Inhibitor product comes in a CLEAR or PINK appearance. It controls corrosion on brass, aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. This will extend the equipment life and improve the overall equipment efficiency.
How much boiler corrosion inhibitor do I feed to my system?
Each gallon treats 125 to 250 fresh gallons of make up water. Add more only if the water is lost. This product should be replaced every 8 years. This is when nitrite may convert to nitrate which will diminish its passivation properties.
